In any of the Pro Thunder Races, you can race a BUELL with a 1200cc engine. But if you want to challenge this class with another manufacturer's bikes it can not exceed 750cc. Well as the irony stands that only bikes the meet this criteria are the SV650 and Ducati 748. And guess which bikes finished ahead in points this year? It was not the Buells! Any time they were contested by one of these bikes the Buells lost, and lost badly! Bikes almost half the displacement beat the tar out of the Buells on a level playing field. Horsepower? Handling? (oh, the Buells were very highly modified when the Ducati and the SV had to remain almost Stock. The facts speak for themselves. What honorable sportbike guy would want to own one of these?
