It had actually been several years since Dax had last heard from Embyr. He wondered if she was still on a ridiculous quest to find a world that had been quarantined so long, its very existence was now considered more myth than fact. As time went on, it had become an obsession with the old female Decepticon, and he had been happy to learn of her recent appointment to the Cybertronian Senate. He thought it would be good for her to finally settle down after her centuries of wandering, and he hoped from such a prestigious position she could make a difference.

The treatment of post-war Decepticons, Octane's original motive for founding the organization, was not as much of an issue as it once was. The AOD had become a multifaceted group with members working together from all factions to monitor injustices of any kind. Now that Cybertron itself was finally rebuilding in the wake of Megatron's global domination, it was possible the old issues could arise once more. For some, peace was genuine. But there was still enimity between Autobot and Decpeticon, Maximal and Predacon, and a dangerous pride that had some outwardly calling themselves Cybertronian while inwardly clinging to their faction. Embyr herself was prideful of her time as a Decepticon, and rightfully so. In her day she was one of their finest warriors, surpassing many of the male seekers. But there was a logic to her, an inner sense of justice and balance that Dax had always admired. When she was focused on an issue outside her own aging, there was a practicality and wisdom that cut right through any issue to find an amicable solution. Surviving the Scraplets--that was possibly on eof the braver things he had seen her done, and she had approached her infection with the same logic and precision of a battle or flight maneuver. She had won that war, but at great physical cost. And as the years went by, Dax realized there was a mental price as well.

But now, in the Senate, perhaps she would forget her own misfortunes and apply her mind to the problems of her fellow Cybertronians. Dax was brimming with excitement at the prospect of this being an official letter; he envisioned giving Astrotrain the good news that Cybertron wanted to speak to them. This could be the most important letter he ever recieved! It could be...nothing?

Dax frowned as he read the monitor before him.

"Dax.

Hope you are well old friend.

Things are looking up; barriers have been lifted.

All in all, at the very source of it, I thought you should be interested.

Take care. Do not work too hard.

Embyr.

Dax was puzzled. He tapped a control and highlighted her words on the screen, but found no hidden content; it made no sense to him. Even in the old days, such a message usually meant some concealed meaning, but if it wasn't between the lines then where was it?

Perhaps there was none; it saddened Dax to think that her mind had deteriorated thusly, and he continued to study her words and consider them, hoping that wasn't the case and giving her the benefit of the doubt...
