Hi Bill, I don't know if you remember or not, but your name sounded familiar. Iwas with CO B from March 68 to May 1970. When I first got into Vietnam I was a mechanic in the motor pool nad we were stationed n/o quin nhon and the n we went south betweem quin nhon and tuy wha building the road over the mountain, our compound was on the side of the mountain with the ROK's above us, then we got to move down south further to the ocean. By then I was a equipment operator and spent a lot of time on QL1 i drove anything from a dozer to a grander to a front loader to the L290 scraper. We then headed north to Bong Son and they were wanting to build the new brigge at Bong Son next to the old one. I can remember the tanks having to cross across the railrad bridge because they awere so heavy and couldn't cross the bridge that was ther next to where we were putting the new on. At Bong Son, I spent most of my time on a dozer or front loader building the runway across the river so, the crane could get down there and drive piles for the new bridge. Spent alot of time in the river pushing dirt up and across those coverts in the river until I left there in 1970.
