I will never forget Richard Infilese's last day in D-Co., prior to his DEROS. I needed a shotgun escort to ride with me as I had to go out of the compound in Phu Thai. His remarks were, "I am going to play army today and get all dressed up" which he did flak vest steel pot, M-14 and all. Thank God for his gesture. We had an accident on a slippery road about daybreak that threw him from the jeep. Not a scratch!
