From Tennessee!!! You just left a whole lot of good relic hunting!! CW stuff all over the place up there.. So I hear anyway, I've never hunted there. I did the same thing. I moved back here from Newport News, Va. Civil War relic heaven!! I wasn't into metal detecting while I was there though. Don't that figure!! Right in the middle of some of the best relic hunting anywhere and I didn't even have a detector..I got a few now though. An original Bandido, a Cutlass Umax, a modified Silver Saber, an Eldorado Umax, a Bandido II Umax, a 1266x and a CZ7a by Fisher. I use the Bandido II Umax for most everything now except beach hunting, unless I'm in the dry sand only, otherwise I use the CZ7a because it works really good in wet salt sand.
I get down that way every now and then, maybe we can get together for a hunt sometime...A friend and I were in your area a couple weeks ago. I found an Eagle cuff button from the civil war and 7 flat buttons from the mid 1800's and earlier. He found some flat buttons and a large cent. Not what we expected but not bad either. It was so hot we couldn't stay as long as we wanted to though. Maybe we'll get to go back there sometime soon if you want to go with us.........................................Glenn
