Subject: Crazy about a Mercury

Wow what a week for detecting!! Dug a nice '42 Mercury today. Only about three in. down. And of course Wheat always digs a couple of Wheats. Going through my coin folder the last Merc I dug was Dec.5,1999 down at the American Legion in Islamorada, Fla. The Large Cent I dug on Monday is soaking in olive oil. I don't expect to see it cleaned enough to get a date on that for at least another three weeks. Hunted today with a friend who owns an XLT. Not picking on Whites it doesn't come close to Fisher for detection depth. But there are some detectors out there that I've seen in operation that might out do a Fisher for depth. Quite impressed with depth on Minelabs Explorer. Cons.. expensive, one coil, high learning curve, heard nightmares about service. Yes, Fisher has lots of cons too. Dug enough rusty nails to build a house. Enough screwcaps to start a bottling company. Remember if this hobby was easy everybody would be doing it. HH..Be safe out there...Wheat
