I really like this site. Looking forward to meeting all of you. I love finding relics, however I like researching a site as much or more. The history of our great state is really quite awesome, to say the least. From the time John Lawson visited the Indians in the Catawba Valley, to Desoto coming up the Wateree river in search of gold. The Scotch Irish imigration to the SC upcountry from Pennsyvania. The importation of slaves to the rice and cotton plantations. The revolutionary battles and skirmishes.-(over 250!!-more than any other state.)The firing on Fort Summter, Sherman's March and destruction, and Potter's raid. Many civil war skirmishes and battles that most people are unfammiliar with. Reconstruction, the redshirts...etc. There's alot of history in this state.
I detect with a tesoro golden umax, tesoro euro, and a nautilus dmcIIBa. I have over the years used many more brands than that. I kinda stick with the tesoros in trash and the nautilus where I need to get deeper targets.
