Hey Ron, I detect with a guy that uses the x5. He digs alot of nails, mostly in trashy areas. It's a good detector, however, I personally feel that there's not a whole lot of difference between the x5 and the fisher 1270. I have noticed that because I have used both of them and know that fisher "assembled" the x5 for troy.-hmmm-(why would fisher build a detector that would outdo their own detectors?) The x5 is a very good detector, however I can do much better in heavy trash with a tesoro. You state that you have been using a mxt. I tried one of those and was very impressed with it. It's the best whites detector I've ever used in this SC soil. The depth is really good also. I was impressed with it.
