Well, I'm sure most of you have already heard, but it has been CONFIRMED that JER is going to be the headwriter at Days of Our Lives. However, he is going to continue writing at Passions as well. I'm not sure if he will be writing as much, but he'll still be there.

I have mixed feelings on this. I know Days had great ratings during JER's era from 1993 to 1997, but I've also seen how he can make a storyline last FOREVER! I'm hoping that he'll make Days ten times better and push it back to #1 in the ratings, but I'll just have to wait and see. JER will begin writing at Days around the first of July, so his stuff will start airing around the first or middle of August.

Apparently Days was on the verge of being cancelled. The press release announcing Days' cancellation had already been done and it was just a matter of time before they announced it to the public, but a last minute, and I do mean last minute, deal saved Days from the fate of Another World and Sunset Beach. In that deal, JER was named headwriter. It was basically an emergency decision. Days HAS to get the ratings up if NBC is going to continue to air soaps, because if Days is cancelled, I'm sure Passions would be not far behind. Anyway, JER claims he is up for the task to save Days. Let's hope he can pull it off!
