And everyone in Salem! I'm sure most of you have already heard, but both James Reynolds (Abe) and Matthew Ashford (Jack) have been fired from Days. Their last air dates are unknown, but it has pretty much been confirmed that both of their characters will be killed by Salem's newest serial killer, whomever that may be. Who knows who will die next? With JER behind the scenes, he could kill off half of Salem! It's very sad to think that Abe and Jack will soon be gone forever. I just can't imagine Lexie and Jennifer living without them. :-(

I would love to hear other Days' fans opinions on this. Please let me know what you think about this upcoming serial killer storyline. I think it would be fine if JER wasn't killing off MAJOR characters. He should be killing off characters Days could do without, like Rex and Cassie. Ooops, but Rex might be the killer. Oh well, put him behind bars for all I care. Just get him off my screen.

I stand behind what you are saying 100million percent. Abe is a classic, not only is he a wonderful man, but he is a legand among Blacks, as being noted being the only black that has had the length of stay on any continuous show. It will be a very haunting day the misguided hands of Days writer JR, does this harm to the show and to all who was so proud of this legendary character.
Jack, goes right along with the same sentiments, being a white character who actually portrayed someone who loved his woman and did not creeep into bed with all the Salem "good slim bodies".
What is this writer trying to say to society? You have to be a male slut, a sleezebag of a man that has too drug, beat and mishandle women, or have so many children that he's produced never has taken care of and reconnects while they can completely take care of themselves or their minds are so distrought they don't even know their humans.
So, as you can see, I am so frustrated with the show that I have watched since 1974, I more than likely will not watch it anymore when these two characters are given the ax. I just wish there was a way to stop it like they did when Marlenna was thougt to have been killed off.

I know what you mean! I really wish the fans could stop this insanity! It just makes me wonder what would happen if the powers that be got bombarded with mail telling them that killing off these major characters was a VERY, VERY bad idea. I mean if this killer move makes the ratings go down, I guess there's a chance Abe and Jack could get resurrected. I mean look how many times Stefano, Marlena, and Hope have died. Stranger things have happened. Even though I think this serial killer storyline is a bad idea, it will be interesting to see how it plays out. I mean the performances given by Jennifer and Lexie will I'm sure be amazing, and I will DEFINITELY need to have the tissues handy. :*(

Most of the people I know who watch--including two lovely women who have watched the show since it began, have already quit again. I agree with them. JER(k) has lost NBC a long-time viewer. I shall have to stick with my CBS soaps from now on.

This is driving me CRAZY... Now I hear Maggie is getting the boot as well.
I guess, all the characters that brought the warmth of love, honesty and a true concern friend, not wanting to hop in bed with each other's friends/partners, or tried to poison or hurt another is not good enough for the show.
Is Alice going to be next?
I just wish, someone could step up to the plate and tell these writers/writer---STOP, we get enough cruelty in today's world, we don't need to see it go repeated on Soaps all the time. Where's the good guys, the remember"Family", where everyone knew their parents and grandparents?
PLEASE DAY'S WRITERS, DON'T LET THIS SOAP GO TO THE TRASH.
