I thought the whole thing about losing the Crane heir was because all of Julian and Ivy's other children were incompetent like Julian. Cause didn't they want to pass over Julian and go straight to Ethan at some point.. then it turned out the only reason Ethan was competent was because he was not a Crane at all.
