This could segue nicely with the anti-Republican remarks in the message/thread (I can never get that straight) below.

I have bought generic brands and been satisfied. Yet, like you Tarn, I wouldn't want a Slapdash nor Headlong car.

My girls groan if I tell them I bought something at K-Mart, yet they don't mind using whatever-it-is when they need/want it. Laugh all you like about toilet paper, but when you need it, you're majorly annoyed if somebody's used the last of it.

I'm angry that folks collect info about me through the stores and business I support. That doesn't seem right.

This could also lead to a discussion of "Big Brother" and being watched/reported by cable repair persons or meter readers. I really dislike big government. I dislike thinking about losing my freedoms (being reported for whatever some utility service person may or may not see in my basement. Yet, having a neighbor who is storing bombs and firearms wouldn't be so great, either.

"It's a hard truth, but the corporation isn't going to shut down so easily." Are we sure we want it to?
