God Bless The USA

If tomorrow all the things were gone

I'd worked for all my life

And I had to start again

With just my children and my wife

I'd thank my lucky stars

To be living here today

Cause the flag still stands for freedom

And they can't take that away

And I'm proud to be an American

Where at least I know I'm free

But I won't forget the men who died

Who gave that right to me

And I gladly stand up

Next to you

And defend her still today

Cause there ain't no doubt

I love this land

God Bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota

To the hills of Tennessee

Across the plains of Texas

From sea to shining sea

From Detroit down to Houston

And New York to L.A.

There's pride in every American heart

And it's time we stand and say

And I'm proud to be an American

Where at least I know I'm free

And I won't forget the men who died

Who gave that right to me

And I gladly stand up

Next to you

And defend her still today

Cause there ain't no doubt

I love this land

God Bless the U.S.A.

I know we can't get away from the negative side of all this, but speaking from a Parent's point of view, the positive aspects are a must. What's hard is when you look at your child at you see the fear in their innocent face. It's not only the children that have the look on their faces, it's everyone. Since Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, there has been a distinct change in all of us. Walking around in the stores and schools and going to the banks and our jobs, you notice a look in everyone's eyes. It's very sad and to some of us very frightening.

My youngest, Melissa who is 8, has cried everyday since this happened. I don't let her watch very much of the coverage, but when she does watch I'm there with her trying my best to explain. She has free time in Art class to draw what they wish. She has brought home pictures that she's drawn of hearts with red white and blue ribbons around them. The ribbons around them connect people and places. Pictures that she has drawn of the American Flag. So, maybe she's handling this better than I am. :) The psychological effects from this will be inevitable which is why we need to be as positive as we can be.

Just wanted to share something positive. :)
It will be a miracle if my post turns out right with all the html tags, hehe. How embarrassed I will be if it becomes a huge mess.
btw FK? those pictures were awesome.
