I was told a story of a beautiful gal,
but I will try to shorten up this tale.
If she didn’t find love, she thought she’d die,
but no one was attracted to her artificial eye.
At bedtime, it went into her coat pocket,
that thing would not stay in its socket.
She lived way up on the third floor,
no one looked at her anymore.
One evening while peering from the balconey,
a lonely stranger, she happened to see.
In her excitement, that eye fell out,
immediately, she began to shout.
The guy below heard her frantic cry,
and caught her eyeball on the fly.
He went up the stairs with her eye,
& returned it, he was that kinda guy.
They fell in love, he spent the night,
seems like everything was going right.
The next morning, at the break of day,
said, “I’ll ask a question, if I may.
Do you do this for every man,
whether it’s George, Fred or Dan?”
“Well of course not,” came her reply,
“first he would have to catch my eye.”
