This New Year's Eve, as you celebrate,
don't rush it, read this first, it can wait.
If you have a fifth of Beam, don't drink it all,
and save some Jack Daniels for after the ball.

For if you down too much of any alcohol,
you'll find you can't even walk at all.
Crawling around to get out the door,
folks tromping on your fingers, they'll get sore.

Not to mention the toilet bowl will be your one friend,
you'll be in there hugging him and puking without end.
Not telling you not to go out and celebrate,
just be sensible, listen to your date.

I'm sure that she won't let you drive,
for she wants to get back home alive.
Cherish her friendship, you know she'll care,
unless you end up making a fool of her there.
