Hast du dich schon mit dem Dezember 2012 beschäftigt", fragte eine Freundin. Ich musste zugeben, dass ich das nicht getan hatte und nicht wusste, dass der Maya-Kalender und andere Prophezeiungen für diese Zeit das Ende der menschlichen Zivilisation vorausgesagt haben. Der Gott Bolon Yokte - Gott der Totenwelt - werde herabsteigen, heißt es, und es beginne ein neues Zeitalter.

Aber welches? Keiner weiß das. Seltsam erscheint nur, dass bei Kollegen, Freunden, Bekannten tatsächlich ein Endzeitgefühl zu spüren ist. Wirtschafts-, Finanz-, Atomkrisen, zunehmende Aggressivität und Depressionen, Unruhen, der Niedergang der Politik - all das vermengt sich in Gesprächen zu einer blubbernden Endzeit-Suppe.
