Subject: She was sitting at home, pretty bored out of her mind and she couldn't sleep. Everyone she knew would already be asleep for the night though so she was stuck just sitting at home and her mind wandered - as it usually did - to him as she stared absently at the tv without really seeing it. She hadn't talked to him in about a week and that worried her, concerened he was falling into one of his quiet depressions as he sometimes did. Picking up her cell, she dialed his number and hit send. Chances were that he would be awake and if he wasn't she knew that he wouldn't bother to get up to answer the phone so she wouldn't be disturbing him.

The distance is quite simply much too far for me to row
It seems farther than ever before, oh no
I need you so much closer
I need you so much closer
So come on, come on

  • He was surprised out of his daydreaming by his phone vibrating in his pocket, and when he pulled it out to check the ID, a quiet smile touched his lips absently. "Hey..." His voice was low and soft, and he stopped his aimless wandering to sit on a bench facing the dark beach and the quiet ocean. One hand held the phone to his ear and the other pushed through his hair, head tipped back and eyes sliding lightly shut. "What're you doing up, sweetie?" It seemed that whenever he thought of calling her it was either too late, or he was in the middle of working or something. He missed her, and she crossed his mind often, and if there was one person that he wanted to hear from the night - it was her. (NT) -- Travis, Sun, Jan 15 2006, 9:58pm PST
