Ken, I think Risha is on the right track. I firmly beleive that Christianity as Christ taught it was truth, however that truth has been changed and corupted to mans way of thinking. Remember Christianity was not originaly a white religion. It was it was an Eastern religion that was brought to the whites of Europe which had religions much like ours to begin with. (Druids and Celts) It was the avangilistic,we have to 'save your sole" attitude, that brought the anglo into it. They took that to heart and forced everyone else to be "saved" or die. Most of the European religions died away. When the Jesuit preists came to this country they were looking to increase the wealth of the church by envelouping Natives. Jolet and Marquet saw an empire in this country that would rival the European church. They were not thinking of saving the "sole" of Native people. If Native people wish to be Christian, I can't say it's bad as long as they use their own interpritation of what Christ said. Black Elk said it best when he said he believed that Christ was the son of God, so why can't the white people believ the White Buffalo Woman gave the Pipe to us to speak to His Father. Christianity can be all consuming if you let it. I don't think it was ment to be that way.
