I believe that many 'religions' have far too much political influence mingled in,too many politicians have rewritten parts in to suit them, and many even in our days USE religion to gain votes. Politics and politicians should keep out of religion! Take their intergerence away and basically I have found that ALL religions are giving the same message.
I think the main fundamental difference with religion and spirituality, is that spirituality teaches you to search 'inwards' to find anwers, and religion has you flicking through a book of someone else's words. Nothing wrong with many of those words if you really look into them, however, there are too many people who don't quite understand them, they can also be misinterpreted and lead to mistakes. Looking within helps you stay connected to the REAL you, not the you that others expect you to be, or the facade which you may have become to fit in! Religion teaches fear, and spirituality teaches you to face your fears and do something about it, not live with it and feed it, pray and hope it goes away! Fears are there for a reason and we have to face them that's part of the reason we are here. Spirituality 'allows' you to accept that you are also a human being as well as a spiritual being, therefore making mistakes and feeling or thinking certain things is ok.. as long as you are connected you can deal with each thing that comes your way, each thought being connected to an emotion and where that can lead to... urghh, now I'm waffling, but basically spirituality allows you to feel the aliveness of you and of everything and not be seperate from it. It also teaches you 'understanding' which if we don't have then we have nothing! Many religious people seem to blame God for everything that goes wrong, but a spiritual person has the awareness to 'know' the reasons for inbalances and take responsability for actions etc.
