I agree one hundred percent. I am non Native American, but I have freinds who are. I saw how the son of one of my freinds was told he could try out for football but he woundn't make the team because he was indian. I was furious! I thought the "back of the bus" attitued was gone in the 50's. Boy was I wrong. And this came from an educator, a person in a position of trust. No wonder the Native people have no trust in white culture. I wanted to confront the teacher, but I was told by the father it would only make things worse for his son in school. We need to be shouting about the atrosities we see now. The bigest problem I see with the way Native People are looked at today, is they are always looked at for the atrosities of a two hundred years ago. Hey People!! we need to address the problems today! The Native People must stand up as one voice and be heard. It amazes me how so many people claim to be part indian, you can't be part anything. We are not pieced together. What is in your heart is what you are. Native American's don't let a fear of retaliation give this stupidity the upper hand, you are not alone in this fight. As you can see by the responses non Native Americans will support your efforts. Please do not resort to isolationism, Let your voice be heard!

Thank You
