Can't say I know what any of your friend's premonitions mean, but I woke up half an hour ago after having a very disturbing dream that I'm trying to figure out. Perhaps it plays into what your friend has been telling you:

My family and I were out driving (not sure where, seemed like South Dakota, because we were just there on vacation), when for some reason we stopped at what must have been a ranger station of some sort. I was talking with the ranger--asking directions, perhaps--when I saw a white buffalo (not a calf, but still a juvenile) walk out of the forest and come toward us. I called for my family to come see, and when I looked back at the buffalo, it was covered in junk, like a trashed Christmas wreath all over its body as if it had run into a fence, and there was a pole going through its head and another stuck in all this trash. When I first saw it, it had been calm, but now it was acting crazy and began to run away, while the ranger and some other visitors tried to catch it so we could help clean it up.

I woke up and tried to focus my thoughts on getting back to this dream, but it was too far gone, so I got out of bed to get on the Internet and try to explain the dream. Here's what I've been able to come up with. Make of it what you will:

--We know there have been several white buffalo born in the last decade or so
--The white buffalo symbolize hope, change on the horizon, etc, very much needed right now.
--The 'wreath': a withered wreath bears sickness and wounded love
--Also it had seemed as though the buffalo was killing itself, probably not in a suicide sense, but like its efforts were proving self-destructive.

So here's the conclusion I came to. We know this is a time in which we need the hope which a white buffalo brings. Several white buffalo have been born, yet if anything, our world seems to be getting only worse. I think the ultimate message of this dream is that the things that will make this world better are not getting through to us, but instead are getting trapped, caught up in all the crap that fills our world and our lives and our minds. The message is getting buried.

Who knows...perhaps the two have something in common?
