Hello Sandi:
Not sure what you mean by 'origin of the NEGATIVE view' of Thanksgiving. All I know is that for just about as long as us non-Indians in America have been celebrating this Thanksgiving holiday, Native American people have understandably had a 'negative view' of it, primarily because of the TRUE origin of the holiday which had absolutely nothing to do with 'Pilgrims & Indians' chumming around together and sharing turkey and pumpkin pie. That whole notion is a complete bunch of B.S. Anyway, it is good that you posted this question. I think you should check what Mr. Two-Hawks wrote about the true origin of the American Thanksgiving holiday. He seems to lend more clarity to it than I can! If I remember correctly, you can find it by going to:
www.nativecircle.com/issues.html
and then clicking the link that says 'Mistakes, Lies and Misonceptions'. Best wishes!
Jerry
