Subject: Any advice for teaching native art in younger childrens class?

I am showing a piece of artwork done by Cadzi Cody to a younger group of kids (3rd graders). I'm really excited to be able to talk about this and to teach them some things about the history of a nation of people. I really want to teach them to want to learn more about the history. I'm sadly aware of what some non-native children (and adults) assume to know about the past without realizing it's stereotypical or completely off base. I was hoping for some advice as to how to teach these children. If you had the opprotunity, what would your main ideas, feelings, facts be? I'd really appreciate any ideas or advice. I've always had an interest and have tried to learn as much as I can, but I think I'd feel better teaching these children if I was given advice from someone who has learned it first hand or been taught through family history. Thank you very much!!!
