Subject: Regular Digivolvers and D-real figures

Regular Digivolvers: (10 bucks most places, I've seen them at Target, Walmart, and TRU)

1. Growlmon/WarGrowlmon
Simplest transformation, seems at least partially based on the Japanese mold, though it is much less complex. WarGrowlmon looks better, though both modes are ok. It's basically like Greymon/WarGreymon, though not quite so simplistic. It's still Dragon to armored Dragon, though.

2. Kyubimon/Taomon
A mess of a toy. The tails just plain get in the way. Very complex transformation, goes from a fox with multiple tails to a humanoid monk. The Taomon mode barely moves. The Kyubimon mode tries to stuff everything into the tails, and so there's stuff coming out everywhere. I don't think it's based on any Japanese mold.

3. Gargomon/Rapidmon
Probably the best of the bunch, goes from an egg-shaped rabbit (dog?) with machine guns for hands to an armored winged humanoid. Rapidmon mode looks a little awkward, I'm surprised they gave him a face when the original design doesn't really have one.

Also, the 02 digivolvers are coming out with Chrome parts. I've only seen Digmon to date, though. Still like my Japanese Digmon better.

D-real/Action figures: No transformation gimmick, better poseability and likeness.
1. Growlmon
Came out a long time ago, in the same case as D-real Imperialdramon. Interestingly, these now come with cards. Decent poseability, though the thing still needs ball joints for the arms. The mouth can open and close, and the little elbow claws can move for apparantly no discernible reason (haven't seen him in action on the cartoon)
2. Kyubimon
Still haven't bought him, since I'm still reeling from the digivolving one. Looks decent, with clear blue tail tips and clear blue feet, along with little separate clear blue flames. I have no idea why Bandai has a problem with the little pieces of the Japanese egg-armor digivolvers (and so made their own, horrible, egg-formers), but can include these little blue flames that are small enough to be easily digested by any infant.

Gargomon is on the back, but I still haven't seen him anywhere. (Can anyone who watches the cartoon tell me how he got into the 03 world, when he was already in the movie? Did Bandai just like his design that much?)
