I know there are traditions, such as studying the craft for a year and a day and then initiation.....but one of my favorite things about wicca is that there are no rules save the one rule. So I have long believed that learning, growing, and even studying are an ever evolving process, certainly not limited to our delibetate attempts to do so!

Therefore! I suggest that you think about everyday occurrances (and even the most mundane such as getting a good night's sleep and laughing with friends) as part of the learning and growing process, spiritually as well as in every other way. It is helpful to think back to days when people observing the natural rhythms of life and the universe did not have books at Barnes and Nobles or pagan shops to buy and read, much less all the rest that we have available to us now. And while it is wonderful to have such resources and we certainly benefit from other's knowledge and insight...it is by no means something that we should take on as a have-to or a burden. Diety is able to communicate in countless ways. So just by taking care of yourself and surrounding yourself with positive and good people, you are making it possible to pay attention to and be available for those communications. It is also possible that (no make that probable that) the very fact that you have other time consuming obligations that prevent you from doing more "formal" wiccan study would indicate that that is not the primary way in which diety wishes you to learn and grow at this point in time! Coolies, no?

big hug,
Dreemy
