hello to everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the late spring/early summer months. I for one am very glad the summer is here! I've finished my first year of college away from home and it was quite successful. I've learned a lot, both academically and otherwise. So now I'm home, feriociously filling out job applications and enjoying my free time with friends and family. I am very much enjoying the fact that I can read things that I actually WANT to read instead of school-obligated things. My best news is that I got accepted into a Women's Summer Leadership Institute through my university. I applied in late winter and didn't hear anything, so I assumed I hadn't been selected (there were only two spots available, and lots of girls who applied!). Then the last week of school I got the acceptance letter!! It's for one week, about 45 college girls with interest in women's studies (it's my minor). We'll do leadership and self-building activities, relating to women's issues. It's completely paid for by the university and I have to do a leadership project based around women's studies when I go back for the fall semester, putting to use what I learned at the Institute. I am so very excited. What have all of you been up to lately? I'd love to hear!
