I will have to pick up the other one soon. I really liked the book. As I was reading it, I kept taking breaks to run to the computer and look up some of the stuff I was reading....a lot regarding the Priory and Opus Dei and I also had to find copies of Da Vinci's paintings....and let me say, I was very impressed with the symbology in the Last Supper and had NEVER noticed the fact that "John" was really Mary in the painting....very impressive indeed.

Being raised Catholic, I found it very easy to see why and how the church would try to conceal evidence of this matter. I felt a lot of pity for Silas....getting pulled into a cult was the last thing he needed...but it also made me mad somewhat at society. Individuals who are drawn to cults tend to be those who are sometimes outcast by society. It just makes me sad that and wonder if people were more accepting, if there would be less of this type of crap.

A question for you....at the end, when Sophie found her grnadmother....am I right in understanding that her grandfather had given her her own "grail" quest....to find the family she thought to be dead for years? It seemed to me to be the point of all that had happened. Maybe this is obvious...but Brown didn't specifically say that this is what he did unless I missed something. Anyways, that's how I saw it... although I do understand that the last set of clues did also point to where the grail *actually* was which Langdon later....and FINALLY figured out....

Another interesting thing here...not to blow my own horn, but I actually figured out one of the clues.... after reading the clues for the second cryptex a few times... I actually figured out the word that would open it...or I thought I did...and then later I found out I was right... I was just basing it on the part about "rosy flesh with seeded womb" though....

Hubby got me "The Gospel of Mary Magdalene" for Yule. I am very excited to read it. We exchanged presents early this year because we are leaving for Oklahoma soon....
I miss you hot tamale seeeeester!
Love
