We have had a very interesting past week for sure. Not the same old. My mom has been sick and never did make it over here. We managed to still go away for our anniversary/yule trip and came back midday on the 21st. We had yule here together..that is with the family who managed to be here. We had tried to get our 20 year old son up here from NC, but didn't manage that. We had an absolute blizzard while away on our trip, then rain back here as the secular christmas weekend rolled around. I must say it was very odd without my mom here with us. We had tried every overature, to go over there, or to drive her here, but she just wanted to stay put and hibernate. I think all of us were abit weirded out and sort of had a bit of an after-holiday depression on Sunday, which we made good use of to try and evaluate how to best plan in the future so as not to have our hopes pinned on other people, and where they are, how they are, etc. It was constructive in the long run. Things change and we must adapt and re-adjust as needed. It has snowed here, although lightly, the past few days on and off, and is snowing now. My deer are very happy with my feeding them, and it continues to be very cool to go out in the yard and call to them and have 12 to 17 deer come running to me with tails swishing high. I did however have to forgo feeding the racoon (much to tabitha's disappointment), after a huge skunk showed up last week! It didn't spray, thank the dieties, but I was too nervous to continue giving it any reason to come back. We will have a little dinnner out and then stopping in at some friends house on New year's eve, but I think we will head home before 12 and spend the final minutes of 2004 together and reflectively, peacefully, by the fire and probably watch the ball drop on TV. We have definitely had a run of parties and company, maybe a bit too much and are wanting some balance.

I hope that this winter solstice has found you all in good health, as well as surrounded by loved ones, peace and joy. I think of you all continually and keep you in my mind's eye, safe and prosperous. I want more for 2005. I want more contact with friends, more time with family...but I think I shall have to put personal growth and renewal on the top of my priority list. 2004 had some very tough times. But I am better, and my family is better, despite those things, and maybe in some ways even because of them.

May we all see the turning of the wheel bringing forth all the fullest and best of life and love in our lives!
hugs,
Dreemy
