to tell the truth, the course was a little disturbing. What I mean by that is that I was disturbed by the way women have been viewed and treated in the past, and this still continues even today! The course didn't touch much at all on the Inquisition, which I was surprised by. But, it was a survey course so they couldn't get to everything, but they focused on much less "violent" things. It was a little watered down and disappointing.

I think that women have come a long way, but there is still a looooooooonnng way to go. I consider myself a feminist, but not in the feminazi, male bashing way. I know too many wonderful men to make a sweeping generalization such as this. However, I do believe that women have been and still are oppressed in many ways, and I am looking to become active in trying to change that. After I get settled in the fall @ school, I plan on doing a 70-hour training course for the Women's Resources hotling, among other things.
Wow, Dreemy, that post really got me started!!
