I have done such work in the past as well as been a vollunteer for a domestic violence program. the most dangerous call a cop can get is a domestic dispute...and the danger can come from anyone involved, not just the abuser....it can come from the victim or even from other family members, including kids! So with that info in your backpack...keep in mind that vollunteer work in this area can also be dangerous. But working on a hotline the real 'danger' (so to speak) will be in protecting your sensitive and caring heart since it can be very emotional and tough work, just to hear the details that a caller will share, and then the sense of powerlessness from being just a voice on the phone. This is another area where wicca can help one feel a sense of power and also release in such emotionally frought situations. Certainly anyone fortunate enough to have you on the other end of the phone on the hotline will have a caring a empathetic vollunteer to talk to.

hugs,
Dreemy
