and wow. what a mess. It was absolutely horrifying. The place reeked of stale cigarettes; the one guy who was showing us around (if you can call it that!) lit up right in front of us! Tons of things are broken, including all of the windows on the "porch" which are now boarded up so there are NO WINDOWS. The whole place is FILTHY. I wouldn't even use the bathroom there. The landlords promise that they realize the condition of the place and plan on fixing it, but unless they can provide that promise in writing and deliver on it, there is no way I'm moving in there. It's UNLIVABLE at this point. I don't know how those guys can stand it. It's very obvious though that the place was in bad shape before they even moved in. On the plus side, the place is huuuuuuggee with lots and lots of windows (the ones that aren't broken). The living room and kitchen areas are very very roomy, as are all of the bedrooms. It would be an absolutely charming place once its fixed up. It has high ceilings and parlor-ish doors, the outside is covered in gorgeous rich ivy. I'm just bummed that it's in the condition that it is, and really scared that they won't do what they're saying they will. There's NO WAY we can live there in the shape its in. So I'm trying to look at it in the best possible light, and hope that the landlords live up to their promise. I know that we will need to be very aggressive in order to get what we need.Is there any spellwork that would be useful for this situation?

Have begun seriously reading "Guide for the Solitary..." now that school is out and I can focus on reading it without thinking "Oh man, I still have to transpose 18 bars of music" or "Three more chapters of psych to read!!" So far I have found it to be extremely straightforward, informative, and easy-to-digest. It's an easy read. I think I will have it finished in just a few days. I am really enjoying it.

I am thoroughly bumming about this apartment siuation!! Advice is welcome and needed!

Peace,
Scarlet
