‡she hurriedly scrubs down, and snaps medical gloves on, puts her hair back up in a hairnet and puts her mask on, she wraps the still-wet puppies in a warm blanket. I think she is hemhoraging from the birth. She quickly slips a mask for a dog onto the malamutes face, and turns on the anesthetic. She waits for the dog to fall asleep. Then she makes an incision on the dog's abdomen and opens her up. She puts the suction on to clear away the blood and she finds the problem. The dog's uterus ruptured in the intensity of her contractions. Cerra digs deeper to find the rupture, and, in finding it, stitches it up. Wait, the malamute is still having contractions! She cuts the stitches reaches down to find another puppy! She picks the puppy up and gives it to the owner. Then she re-stitches the dog's uterus up, then she stitches up the dog's belly. The dog will need a blood transfusion so Cerra gets out some donor blood and hooks it up to an IV. She takes the mask off, but starts another IV to keep the dog drowsy and out of pain, that way she won't rip out the blood transfusion when she wakes up, and so she won't be in pain.
