The advantage we have here is a core group of die-hards like Bannatyne, Odi, RodS,Rocksteady,MBMaker, Search, Scott,Tales, ect some who have "known" each other for years. What makes us all special is our interaction with *each other*. Every single one of us contributes something, in some way. I think our feeling of belonging was pretty much solidified in Wonderland. If some of us are going to be at a show, we make an effort to meet each other. I know if I go to a TO show I'm going to run into the TO fans like Wayne, Donna B, Rhapsody ect.
The thing over there is it's "every man for himself" there's no commitment, no sense of kinship, no interaction with the others. Somebody just pops in asks a question and may never pop back in again.
I guess the advantage we had when I started my own board was we started out with a core group of fans who just wanted to converse, share, find out about Burton w/o any bs. And new people came along and joined the fun.
That's why we're the Burton Cummings Fan Club. We always were, I just put the name to it!
Now obviously, newbies are welcome.

Thanks to all of you, I'm gaining more knowledge every day and lovin every minute of it. Now a question. Went to rent "Together Again" believe it's a video from '83 but someone took it out and never brought it back which ticked me off cuz that was my plan. Know it's probably good and I'm gonna get it anyway but wouldn't mind some feedback from the pros. Thanks. LL

There's 2 versions of Together Again- one was taped off Canadian cable and is longer, one is the official video release. I have the cable version, it's a little worn, but not much. Seeing the guys on stage again- it's great.Back in 83 I wasn't evan aware that the guys had evan got back together. I had got ahold of a tape (audio) thru RCA record club called Best Of The GW live in '86 and until I got online last year I didn't evan know it was a tape of the reunited group , I thought it was a bunch of songs taken from previous live shows or something. (and since there was absolutly No Info inc with this tape I was left pretty much in the dark.)
Which is the beauty of the internet. Instant communication w/ other fans.( Some of these members go back before the internet.) If Burton is in Winnipeg on his radio show- we know it. When he says something of interest, someone reports it. When there's a newspaper article, somebody posts it. And we don't evan have to follow him around and make pests of ourselves!

That's really what I meant about us not being a bunch of "casual fans" We can pretty much seperate fact from fiction. But yes, get ahold of the video.
