I lifestoned in Kara and headed WNW.

Sighted: One tundra mattekar, surrounded by four dires mattekars (the coordinates are in the message of the day, just in case you want to go there yourself and hope for the same luck).

Fought: One tundra mattekar and its four accompanying dires mattekars.

Results: (after holding my breath and crossing my fingers) One robe. I screamed in real life :)

Also, last night on the same mountain, I picked up three motes, one great mattekar hide, one great mattekar horn.

Doc and I met up afterwards to look for another tundra, but we did not have any luck. They're sneaky and they know we're pursuing them, I think ;)

What does the tundra mattekar look like? He's larger than the dires mattekar, and his coat is a light tan color, his horns are bluish. He drops the robe, not the coat, by the way.

Now, I buffed the robe with an imp to see the protections and I'm uncertain what it is that everyone is saying is better than the other robe, because it isn't. There are elements to which the robe poorly protects and protects below average, nothing is above average or parallel. *Shrug* I'm not a mage, however, so there may be something that I am just missing. BUT, it's a pretty sharp looking robe :D

So, I'm out again, looking for more signs of this elusive creature so that Bard will have a robe, too!
