I had just exited into the northern dires from the portal in Glendon Wood and was running northward along the beach toward Plateau when, all of a sudden, I spotted, off in the distance, two dire cats. Having heard the rumors that they are once again dropping their hides, knowing that I have a tendency to stumble upon the hide-dropping ones, I decided to engage them. Too quickly, though, I ran in and found myself flanked by not only the two dire ursuins, but the much larger and deadlier dread.
Hehehe. I have not had to do so much running from an ursuin since I was... well, much younger than I am now. I was able to finally seperate him from the two accompanying dires ursuins, which was a very good thing; otherwise, I would not have been the one doing the killing ;) What a big kitty this is! Level 58 and all claw and fang, this huge ursuin was very difficult for me to kill at full buff because of his piercing power.
Now that I have seen the beasty, I will be going up against them again in the future should I see them again. I have heard the tales about the beautiful, heavy coats that they drop, a full 30 AL heavier than the linvak jackets that so many of us sport. So, of course, I must have one go hunting for this creature!
