There is something to be said, though, about the soldiers of old that you see on Thistledown, people like you and me, Doc. We have succeeded despite the ease that is afforded to others who had earlier honed their focus and arc lore before we did, and that is an accomplishment in itself.

Then, there are other fighters like Brute Squad and his Mrs., who have no magic at all. In fact, I have heard rumor that Mrs. B has no intention of ever picking up any magic except to travel - she's not even going to buff her weapons!

So, we're all diamonds in the rough, to my way of thinking! And, as we rise in level (even though I am, for the time being, on hiatus), there is a respect that we'll feel for ourselves and given to us because we truly can go into any battle and be a tank!
