I know as a swordwielder for most of my AC life, the use of atlans has decreased since the "bandit" weapon came along. There are a number of great no-drop weapons for axe-users and the need for atlans just isnt as important as it used to be. The rav weapon is a very useful no-drop, though to activate takes a skill of 275, which by that time you would have found some other type of awesome weapon. But, always a nice one to carry.
