What is the Crooked Grin you ask? Well back on LC I was in a very prestegious guild known as the Iron Lightning Guild. (which sadly no longer exists due to bad politics) There were so many members that no one group of Main members (such as Ilu, Doc, Bo and Myself are for GG) could take care of everyone, so the guild was subdivided into 7 Orders. Each main member had a unique group who followed underneath him and as such he would report to guild meetings to decide what was best for the guild as well as his order. I was the leader of The Order of the Crooked Grin, a band of traders who spent most of their time in the hub. Why Crooked Grin?? Know that smerk traders give ya when you trade them and they know they have another trade lined up to trade your item for 4 times what you got? Thats a Crooked Grin. I was one of the best there, much like I am here, and my order could get ANYTHING within a matter of days. The ILG was split later on into those who wanted to merge into another guild and those who stayed ILG. I wanted to remain an independant and strong guild, but the other orders felt differently, so my order disbanded from the ILG and went separate ways. Thus I came to TD and met Doc.
Now, in GG I am attempting (with the support of the other members of course) to bring back my Order. No, I'm not planning to break away, I just miss not having the crew of contacts all around Dereth's major cities working out deals. We used to have a test to see if you could be in a specific order, but that doesn't seem like GGs style. However, I'm still holding my tests to be able to join as a true member(a presteige sort of thing) although I'll take anyone the guild dubs worthwhile as a Vassal (just not a Crooked Grinner). The Test is simple, I give you an item of which I know the true worth and you have to trade it for more than its true worth. (I.E. I give you a V mask, worth a tiny, and you come back with a small) Here's the catch, I don't tell you the true worth of the item or of any other items, you have to spend hub time to learn Dereth Economics. Thus only someone who knows "the worth of a pyreal" and can spot a deal gets in. You will get no other items from me to complete the trade with and you will get nothing else from me if you get swindled,EVER, unless you come back successful or the guild says you need something ( I.E. Edict from Doc) or you give me back the item. It also makes sure that noble swordswingers (like our dear Doc) who have little to no real hub time under their belts stick to huntin and leave trading to the best. (no offense doc) If you want in or have questions, post a messege. Guildmembers, if you are opposed to the order, say so, but remember my order helped make ILG an Economic powerhouse, and with the need for odd items to get a guild house, we may need it. I can do it alone, but with members it would be much smoother.
