I'm not sure what is meant by "flip-flop suicide" trunk...
but right after I bought my '02 ES I had a ski pass-through
cut into the center arm rest in the back seat. I took it
to the local auto seat cover place and they did it in about a couple hours and charged me $130. As a nice addition, the guy had some leather around the shop that had the same color as the seats so he cut a piece and fixed it as a flap that covers up the hole through to the truck. He also cut a flap in the trunk lining so that there are two flap coverings over the hole.
