Ive changed the coolant on my D twice and didnt have this problem. So no one can say this HAS to be done by a shop on a machine to avoid this. Have you topped it off after all the driving youve done so far? There could be an air pocket trapped somewhere in the coolant system. This could be a bad thing depending on where its at. Since the gauge is going up it could be near the coolant sensor. Make sure the raditor is full and the overflow container is where it should be.
