Subject: Had a look at the instrument panel...
In reply to: Michael R. Tomkins 's message, "Re: 98 Diamante dash removal" on 11:03:13 11/15/02 Fri

I took a look at the instrument panel surround, and noted that on the 98 Diamante there are two screws in the underside at the top of the surround, which I have removed. I can't see any other screws around the surround.

I've lowered the steering wheel, and can slip my fingers underneath the instrument panel, but can't feel any catches or screws around this location. I am concerned about the location of the catches, though - gently pulling on the surround, it feels securely attached and I don't want to snap a catch.

Anybody with any experience of removing the panel, or better still a picture of it or a scan from the service manual?
