I've heard the same story myself. DaimlerChrysler has given Mitsubishi its orders, and that is to concentrate on the entry-level market. The Diamante will continue basically undeveloped beyond simple styling changes to the sheet metal for another few years, and then will be discontinued with no replacement. From that point on, Mitsubishi will only be allowed to make entry to mid-level cars, and no more luxury or near-luxury.
