Author: Thate'ikoj
Subject: I'll be migged but this is a Xae of a world to live on, and that's a compliment!

~*~Individual!~*~
Name~ Thate'ikoj (Called Thate by friends)
Appearance~ A rusty red, he's of average height for a Surnd'ipo. His eyes are a blue-green color, sometimes more green, and other times more blue. When he's angry or sad, his eyes turn a bluish-grey. His tihaine amulet is a ruby triangle with emeralds on each corner and sapphires on each side, surrounded by a ring of gold.
Personality~ Distant with those he doesn't know, but very loyal to his people and to his friends. He's a great fighter, and strongly believes in the full-life concept that most Surnd'apor adopt.
Age~ 25
Gender~ Male
Species' Name~ Surnd'ipo

~*~Species!~*~
Species' Name~ Surnd’ipo (singular) Surnd’apor (plural)

Home World~ Ipoman

Height at the Shoulder~ males are usually 6’ when upright, females just an inch or two shorter. No Surnd’ipo has ever been taller than 6’ 2” when upright. When on all fours, a little less then 3 feet for a 6’ Surnd’ipo.

Species' Colors~ tans, browns, reds (but nothing flashy), grays, and an occasional black or white. Almost always one solid color. On the rare cases that a Surnd’ipo is of two colors, the colors are very similar to each other: thus, you wouldn’t find a black and white one.
Temperament~
IN GENERAL
Temperament varies from individual to individual. They can be cheerful, withdrawn, kind, mean, sulky, with a quick temper, slow temper, etc. It all depends on the individual. However, all Surnd’apor are generally fearless, and practically no Surnd’apor are greedy. Wealth and fame are not all that important to Surnd’apor—at least most of them. In their own society there are no poor or rich; they live with a law of consecration. They find money somewhat humorous, but they do pay those who are not Surnd’ipo for services and goods.
When with strangers, they tend to be silent and distant, but when they know you and like you, they can be friendly, if just a little distant still. If they know you and don’t like you, they’re still distant, occasionally insulting, and definitely not friendly.

SURND’IPO BELIEFS OF FIGHTING
It is a strong Surnd’ipo belief that all creatures, whether friend or enemy, deserve to live until natural death takes them beyond this life. Because of this belief, Surnd’ipo try not to kill when in battle; instead, they aim to knock out, maim, or render the foe unable to continue fighting. They will kill when forced to, when there is no other choice and they aren’t able to defeat the foe any other way, but they try to avoid shedding one’s lifeblood as much as possible. This belief, however, does not make them any less fearsome; in fact, they are renowned for their amazing fighting skills, some of the best hand-to-hand fighters out there. They prefer hand-to-hand fighting as well, and will only use a weapon if it is obvious one needs one. They are best at staves and blades, not so good with guns or ranged weapons of any type. When done with the combat, Surnd’apor strip their opponents of any weapons so that the foe will not be able to fight anymore. They take prisoners unless told otherwise, and ransom the prisoners back to their people after extracting an oath of peace from the one taken prisoner. The oath prohibits any returned prisoner to ever take up arms against the Surnd’apor again.

OOC: WOW, THIS APPEARED LONGER THEN EXPECTED. IF YOU NEED ME TO CUT IT DOWN A LITTLE, I CAN TRY, BUT THE SURND'APOR ARE VERY COMPLEX PEOPLE.

Species' Description~
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
Basic Body Build- Surnd’apor are built much like a human, with slightly longer torsos and slightly longer arms in proportion to the rest of the body. They walk both upright and on all fours, depending on the situation and preference. When upright, they hold themselves like a human. Their front legs are referred to as arms, their front paws referred to as hands. Surnd’apor have four fingers and an opposable thumb on each hand, but their fingers are shorter and thicker then a human’s. Their hind paws are referred to as feet when standing upright. They only have four toes, and their feet are as wide as their palms. When upright, they balance on toes, balls of the feet, and heel, like a human, but when on all fours the back legs are balanced on toes and balls of feet only. Their toes are therefore longer and wider then a human’s for better balance.
Surnd’apor usually prefer to walk on all fours, and will only walk on two legs when it is more convenient, when they are carrying something, when they are fighting, or when they intend to be intimidating. The hind legs bend a little when on all fours, so that the front of the body and the back are on an even level. Surnd’apor move and posture much like a tiger or other large feline (NOT like a gorilla), and they are very supple, moving with liquid grace. They are incredibly quick and coordinated of muscle, thin and whip like, but made of muscle and sinew. They have short, blunt claws on all four paws, good for grip but not for tearing.
They have tails that are like a cat’s, barely touching the ground when standing up, and not quite touching the ground when on all fours.

Face- Their faces have a rather canine-ish look to them, with upright and triangle ears, and a muzzle that is somewhere between a wolf and a cat’s in length. Two eyes that are like a dogs, but with more iris and less pupil. The irises can be just about any color. They have sharp teeth to help them eat, but while they don’t usually use their teeth to fight, they’ll still bite sometimes if your close enough in battle.

Fur- Surnd’apor have short fur that is slicked to their bodies. Between their ears they have longer “hair-like” fur, and females have longer “hair” there then males.

OTHER DESCRIPTIONS OF SPECIES
Telepathy- Surnd’ipo have the ability to sense the mood and emotion (though rather vaguely) of someone they are close to. They can often sense deceit when it is strong, and other very strong emotions can be felt.

Names- Surnd’ipo names always have two parts: The main part, and the secondary part. They are divided with an apostrophe. Like this: Main’second. Nicknames are always the main part of the name. A surnd’ipo named Hirol’udof would be called Hirol as a nickname among everyone except his tihaile. The tihaile usually calls the other by their secondary part of the name. It is a way of showing very strong affection to call a Surnd’ipo by just his or her secondary part.

Age- Surnd'apor are old enough to fend for themselves at age 15, but they reach their full size by age 23 in most cases. They live for about 115 years, the oldest ever being 134.

Reproduction- Surnd’apor NEVER, EVER have life mates. They mate once a year for the express purpose of reproducing and keeping the species alive. There is no special relationship between the male and female who mate. The female bears the litter after a pregnancy of five and a half months. The litter is always 1 or 2 pups. The female then takes care of the child/ren until they are old enough to fend for themselves, and capable to go out into the world as an adolescent (which is about 15 years old). They are not yet full grown, but they can still fend for themselves. There is a bond between child and parent, but most Surnd’apor have never met their father. There is no special relationship between father and mother, unless they are tihaile.

Tihaile- (pronounced tih-HAYL-eh) The most unique thing about Surnd’ipo society is the relationship of tihaile. Surnd’apor don’t have romantic love; instead, they have the bond and love between tihaile. Every Surnd’ipo receives an amulet on a necklace at birth. They wear the amulet every second of their lives thereafter, and somehow a part of them is absorbed into the amulet. Rather like marriage, tihaile exchange the amulets to the person they want to be bound with for the rest of their lives, and supposedly beyond this life as well. A Surnd’ipo can give his or her amulet to anyone of any species and of any gender; it doesn’t matter. The amulet is a symbol of complete friendship and trust, and unbreaking love (not romantic love) between the two people. The bond is unbreakable, and is created the moment the other puts your amulet on; how bond is made, nobody knows, but that person then becomes your dearest friend, someone even more then a friend. They become your tihaile and become bonded with you. The two tihaile can feel each other’s emotions and pains, and know where the person is (roughly how far and in what direction—it gets more and more general the further apart they are). Tihaile are fiercely protective of each other, and will die for each other. It is much like the marriage relationship, but it can be with any species, any gender. When a Surnd’ipo bonds with non-Surnd’ipo, the same connection is made. The Surnd’ipo will give the other person his/her amulet and the bond is made, for only one amulet is needed to create the bond between individuals, but it is customary for the non-Surnd’ipo to create and give the Surnd’ipo a necklace to imitate the exchange of amulets.
A Surnd’ipo wearing an amulet outside of his/her clothing signifies that they do not have a Tihaile, and when one does have a tihaile, they wear the amulet beneath the clothing, touching the person’s skin.

ANYONE CAN PLAY A SURND'IPO AS LONG AS YOU PLAY IT RIGHT, AND ONLY ON THIS SITE. Thank you.
