Author: Poverty
Subject: Poverty has a way of being ignored by the rich and embraced by the poor.

It seeps into the very fiber of society and, like a deadly cancer, begins to break down civilization if it is not addressed. Poverty, like disease and war, has the ability to unite a people or divide them irrevocably. Poverty, in some religions, has been seen as a way to attain moral perfection. In other religions poverty has been percieved as a sin.

Here, in the slums of Cybertron, poverty simply exists without apologies.

It was infused into Cybertronian culture in much the same way it did with the ancient Roman Empire. As the rich grew in power and strength, as the military needed more funds to draw from the public to maintain an already too long protracted war, the people became the casualties. Homes were sold. Jobs were lost. Poverty stricken Cybertronians gathered together and fumed as they were ignored by a pompous government.

Such inaction always led to corruption and eventual downfall.

The events of the past had been a sort of release, a salvation if you will, for the slums. No longer did they have to exist in the nightmare of reality but they were sucked into the very being of monstrous Megatron. When they found themselves reformated they still found themselves paupers and had once again hid in the slums...once again fuming and angry.

Now, the slums delved in the illegal. Spice selling was a pretty good source of income as was energy-prostitution. Cybertronians would sell vital energy resources from their being to others who would take the influx and be momentarily on a higher plane. It left many of these poor inhabitants weak and disillusioned. Disease spread quickly through the slums and the suicide rate was astronomical. It was to be noted that the financial downslide was worst...

These were the masses beneath the masses. These did not shop in the streets but stole from them. These did not praise the council but saw them as extensions of a perverted senate. Of the senators, they hated them all and could not stand what they stood for...equal representation for those who were beyond equality.

The slums thrived in their degeneration....
