Great to see you again, Jason!

Everyone I've spoken to who has played it, or is currently playing it has expressed great hope for it. Have we really seen the rebirth of Final Fantasy? VII, in my opinion, is still untouchable as a game, let alone a Final Fantasy, then we had the less than amazing FFVIII, which was met with very mixed reviews. FFIX, so I've heard, was a small step up in the right direction, but still way below the level required to be great. Now it seems that X is sweeping the way for a golden spot. Here's hoping.

I really like talking about my favourite characters, merely because... Well, who doesn't?!

1. Cloud
2. Tifa
3. Sephiroth
4. Barret
5. Yuffie

I know, I know, these guys are all from Final Fantasy VII, but to justify that, let me say that the aspect I liked best about VII was it's incredible way of making you feel empathy and emotion for the characters. (What other game brings a tear to your eye every time you hear the start of the Aeris Theme?) Cloud will most likely hold Pole-position for some time, just because he's the most inventive, surprising character I think has ever been cooked up, in game, book or movie. Tifa's two sides just screams "love me!", and Sephiroth's ability to make someone quake as soon as you see the tip of his Masamune enter the screen puts him down as a notable no. 3. Barret has an attitude I really like, A tough-as-mythril exterior with a solemn and caring inside. And Yuffie, surprisingly, takes 5th, just because I recently played through the game with her in my party, and everything from her high-strung personality and her child-like behaviour, to her excellent limit breaks makes me like her character even more.

Whee, that was fun!
