Subject: A Bio of Cloud, just to check.

I just wanna see if you guys can find anything wrong with any of this. I'm just writing out the FF7 Character bios for some godforsaken reason, and I figured I'd get you guys to proofread it.

Cloud Strife was born and raised in Nibelheim, a small, folksy town at the foot of Mt Nibel, a treacherous pass where only Guides and those familiar to the area could go. His Father died soon after he was born, so Cloud never really had the responsible father-figure to watch over him. His Mother raised him herself and they were happy, at least in Cloud's early years. His Mother, although trying her best, at times didn't quite know how to handle Cloud, he always seemed so distant and rebellious, but she tried nonetheless.

Cloud had very friends in Nibelheim, if any real friends at all, and spent the majority of his life as a loner, wishing that he could join the groups of friends that he would always see around town, giggling and laughing and swapping stories. Even though he had a disliking for the way they all acted, immature and stupid, he desperately hoped that one day he could join their ranks and have friends. Tifa, his next-door-neighbor, was a very popular girl, especially in their little in-crowd, and was always admired by the boys, and the girls because she had always been attractive and sociable. However much he watched froma distance, hoping to be like them, he always thought to himself that was different from those immature kids who giggled and acted stupid all day. Sometimes he would just sit on the well tower and gaze into Tifa's bedroom window from afar, just so he could see the group playing around.

When Cloud and Tifa were still children, Tifa's mother died unexpectantly, shattering Tifa. They had always been a close family and losing her mother had torn her up completely. Her friends tried to console her as she sat crying against her bed in her room, but to no avail. Out the window, Cloud was approaching the house to see what was going on, but before he could come in, Tifa left the room, her trail of friends following close behind. They passed Cloud outside, and he tagged along. Tifa led them to the trail into the Moutain Range and walked down the narrow paths, determined to find her mother's spirit. It was said that in Nibelheim, when a person dies their spirits goes through the Nibelheim Mountains, and that was where Tifa hoped to see her Mother. Along the way, her stragglers became frightened of the climb, and opted to head back. Cloud followed silently a short way behind. When they reached the bridge connecting two cliffs over a chasm, Tifa's remaining friends stopped, again opting for the safer choice of going home. Cloud followed Tifa onto the bridge. The bridge swayed and rocked and finally snapped, sending the two tumbling down onto the rocky ground of the chasm floor. When Cloud came to, his knees were injured, but apart from other small cuts and bruises, he was fine. Tifa, however, was not moving, unconscious on the ground not far from him. Before he could think, Tifa's father and another townsperson ran up. The second man scooped Tifa's limp body up and ran back to the township, Tifa's father scolded Cloud for taking Tifa into the mountains, but took him back to the town as well. Tifa quickly slipped into a coma, and was in that coma until she awoke slowly 7 days later. The town blamed Cloud for the accident.

More of a recluse than ever, Cloud's wild streak grew with a vengeance. Angry at himself for how weak he was for not being able to save Tifa, he became more reckless, picking fights with anyone and getting into trouble at school. Mrs Strife didn't know how to handle this behaviour and just tried to keep from having a stroke. When Cloud was 14, it was then that his mother decided to put Cloud's behaviour into some use, and she found leaflets for the ShinRa Soldier programme. Perhaps the Programme would teach Cloud to behave, give him the lessons he had been without, having no father. Cloud thought it was a great idea and immediately decided to leave town for Midgar, where the recruitments were happening. Secretly he hoped that he could become stronger, famous and charismatic, like his hero, the Great General Sephiroth. He hoped that the status he gained would finally get people to notice him, expecially Tifa, who he felt hated him for what he had done. Even though he thought it would be fruitless, he asked Tifa to come to the well at night to talk. When she arrived, he told her his plans of joining Soldier and becoming powerful like Sephiroth. She asked him to make a promise to her, that when he was a big, famous Soldier, he would come back and save her when she was in trouble, like a hero rescuing a damsel. He promised her he would, and they both went their ways.

Cloud entered the Soldier Programme, and he trained hard and studied harder, becoming quite good in his class. He befriended another recruit, Zack, a black spikey-haired boy who seemed like a great guy, together they went through the course and finally passed into the Mako-Accelleration process. However, soon afterwards, Cloud rebellious nature got the better of him, and after making one mistake too many, he was thrown from the programme. Having his dream slashed cruely at it's peak, Cloud became more of a recluse , feeling more of a failure to Nibelheim, and Tifa, then ever. Sadly, he took a job as a Shinra guard, which came easy as he was as strong as someone in Soldier. Zack took care of him, though, and made sure that whenever a good assignment came up for Soldier, Cloud would be included as one of the Shinra guard escorts. Zack had many assignments, some that even required the help of General Sephiroth. Cloud was included in most of these trips, and so got to travel with Sephiroth also. When Cloud was 16, he and Zack were taken on an assignment of great importance with Sephiroth, although the location was disclosed to him, Cloud happily followed along, another chance to be with the only two people he considered to be his friends. When they arrived at their destination, Cloud had been too busy coping with his motion-sickness to pay attention to where they were, and when they stepped out of the truck, they were at Nibelheim, there to inspect a faulty Mako reactor. Quickly, Cloud donned his face-mask, determined to not be seen by the people of Nibelheim as a lowly Shinra guard, and not the powerful Soldier he had said he would come back as. They stayed the night at the inn, having let Cloud go to see mother. Cloud sadly told his mother that he hadn't made it into Soldier, she was just relieved to see that the army had toned down his rebellious nature somewhat.

The next morning, they headed out to Mt Nibel, with a 15 year old Tifa as their guide. The trek was dangerous, and after the bridge snapped again on them, they all tumbled once more into the chasm. Being more hardy than ever, noone was really hurt, but one guard was missing. They continued without him, Making various discoveries about the mountains, with Cloud watching Tifa silently from behind his ShinRa guard mask. When they reached the reactor, Cloud was ordered to keep Tifa outside of it, as the reactor held a lot of ShinRa's top secrets. A few minutes later, Sephiroth stormed outside and led the party silently back to the township.

A few days later, Sephiroth was nowhere to be found, and after Cloud finally found him in the hidden basement of the ShinRa Mansion, Sephiroth told him of his heritage and how his kind were traitors, too lazy to search for the promised land, sacrificing the Ancients to spare their own lives. Many days later, Sephiroth went mad, running around the township, cutting people down with his enormous blade and setting fire to the houses with his materia. Cloud rushed outside his house, but only got so far before the smoke took to his lungs and made him double over onto the ground. When he finally got back up, he headed off to the reactor where he knew Sephiroth would have headed. Reaching the reactor, he ran inside to find Tifa crying over her father's slain body, beside the body was the sword of Sephiroth. Before he could act, Tifa grabbed the sword and ran into the reactor. After failing to use the sword on Sephiroth, he turned it on her and cut her down, leaving her to bleed to death on the reactor floor. Zack tried to stop him, but was easily thrown away onto the pods in the reactor, wounding him badly. Cloud ran in, saw Tifa dying, and scooped her up in his arms, he carried her to the side of the reactor and listened as she spoke softly to him. Then he took Zack's sword in hand and ran into Jenova's room where Sephiroth had gone. Running up behind him, Cloud stabbed Sephiroth in the back, causing him great using him great pain. Sephiroth snarled at him and limped past with the head of Jenova, Cloud followed him to the bridge above the lifestream. When they were on the bridge, Sephiroth, whirled around and impaled Cloud on the end of his Masamune, then lifted him in the air to throw him off into the lifestream below. Using all his strength, Cloud pulled himself to the ground, and with the sword still through his gut, the lifted Sephiroth in the air by the sword and hurled him off the bridge, sword and all, effectively killing Sephiroth's physical body.

As he lay bleeding on the floor, dilerious and close to death, Professor Hojo arrived, and picked up Cloud and Zack. For 5 years, Cloud and Zack were used as experimental specimens in Hojo's continuing Jenova Project work, being injected with Jenova cells and being exposed to high amounts of Mako. Hojo's plans were to create Sephiroth clones who would be extremely powerful. Finally, Zack was able to escape from his cell, free Cloud and flee from the Basement of the ShinRa Mansion. With Cloud dopey and comatose from all the experiments, Zack hitched a ride from a friendly farmer and he and Cloud rode to Midgar, with Zack telling Cloud of his plans to become a paid mercenary and work for anyone. On the ridge of Midgar's closest hill, Zack ran into some trouble in the form of a troop of ShinRa guards. Although he cut many down, he was shot down after checking on Cloud, who was still no closer to recovery. After having several just-to-be-sure bullets painted into his chest, Zack died on the hill, but the guards thought it no use killing Cloud, who already seemed close to death. After they had left, Cloud mustered all his strength and sat up, seeing Zack. Taking his sword in Zack's honour, he trudged to Midgar, figuring he'd be a mercenary, like Zack had planned.

After several jobs working for people who needed his skills, cloud had maintained a reputation for destruction and was handy for jobs around and under the plate. But he was still not quite recovered, and after having a brief relapse near the Sector 7 train station, he was greeted by an old friend, Tifa, who introduced him to AVALANCHE, a group of rebellious anti-ShinRa terrorists who needed his skills in a Mako reactor job.
