The battle system is like Diablo meaning it's mostly realtime. The difference is that once you tell a guy to attack he/she will keep hitting while Diablo makes you keep clicking in order attack. The weapon system is a little turned based. The heavier the weapon is the more damage it does but the longer it takes to swing and you'll have a higher chance to miss. The lighter it is the less damage you'll do but you'll hit more often and faster. The spells take time to charge(the more powerful it is the longer it takes)and some do area damage. You can be easily killed while you are searching through your spells so it is best to hit the SpaceBar, to pause the game, while you choose your physical and magical attacks. I remember hearing something about rolling a dice has something to do with attacks. I guess evey attack will have a chance of doing 1-6 HP of damage (the more powerful the weapon is the more the numbers will go up. Eg 20-26)

That's about all I can think of right now.
