Let's see:

- SNK is a Japanese company that is currently in the midst of bankruptcy. It's a shame too, IMHO. They made the Neo-Geo systems (pocket, arcade and home versions). They're also the creators of my favorite fighting game series "King of Fighters". Capcom recently made a Versus title pitting their fighters against the fighters of several SNK series ("King of Fighters" and "Samurai Shodown").

- X-box companies? You could probably check out Xbox.com for a list of the current developers (not that all of them will actually make games for the system... but that'll give you a better idea). I think the list currently includes Tecmo, Activision, Lucasarts and a few others.

- Sega: Yup, they developed the original Phantasy Star series. The current one (Phantasy Star Online) is okay, but pretty much has nothing to do with the prior series (the original games pretty much all built off the same mythology/storyline instead of something like Final Fantasy which used similiar world elements but had no continuing story continuity from game to game). Err... scratch that. It's okay, so long as you don't use a general term for 'footwear". For some unknown reason, the word "shoes" is considered a curse by the language filters in the online game. And the mind boggles...
