Subject: Chat Server Reccomendations Wanted

I don't know if anyone here knows much about this sort of thing, but I thought I would post an inquiry. I'm currently working on an online roleplaying game (of the pen-and-paper variety, not a video game RPG), and I could use some ideas on where to hold it.

The two options I have are chats and message boards (I have neither the time nor the inclination necessary to learn the code necessary to create a MUD, MUSH, etc). If I go with the message board idea, it's no problem. Voy and any number of other free, fairly reliable services will do. However, due to the slow pace of message board RPG's, I would like to at least try a chat-based one first and see how that works out.

What I am looking for is a chat server that above all else is RELIABLE. It also should not be on a public circuit, so that outsiders can't just wander in uninvited (i.e. Multichat). If at all possible, it would be great if it allowed one to play music, but I'm not even sure if that exists.

Any help would be most appreciated.
