Actually, Chrono Cross is a direct sequal to Chrono Trigger, although in some ways I wish it wasn't. Same world, same storyline, etc. However, I have to wonder if the writing wasn't done by a different people. It's hard to do much airing of greivances (spelling?) with packing this post full of spoilers, so I'll save my Chrono Cross Rant for another time.

I do love that battle system though.....
